Cemetery Association, Inc.
The next meeting of
the Pioneers' Cemetery Association is scheduled for Sunday, May 18th,
at 2 PM at Smurthwaite House at 1317 West Jefferson. Prospective
members are cordially invited to attend.
Mark your calendars and plan to attend the PCA's 25th annual Memorial Day observance beginning
promptly at 9:30 AM on Monday, May 26th! There will be activities
for the children, program participants in historic dress and opportunities
to tour Smurthwaite House and the cemeteries.
During the Memorial Day Observance, please pause a moment to
admire the wrought-iron arches at the entrances of Rosedale and
Porter cemeteries. They were donated
by the Wilky family.
A complete listing of all known burials in the Pioneer
& Military Memorial Park (P&MMP) is now available to
the public in spiral-bound book format. A donation of
$25 to the Pioneers' Cemetery Association, Inc. is requested
to help cover printing costs. Order your copy today

Mission and History of the PCA
The Pioneers'
Cemetery Association (PCA) located in Phoenix, Arizona,
is a 501(c)(3) non-profit organization.
The mission
of the Pioneers' Cemetery Association (PCA) is
to research, preserve, and protect the history and physical
remains of Arizona pioneers as exemplified in the early,
historic-period cemeteries of the state.
The
PCA also wishes to preserve, interpret, and promote through
active fund-raising and individual volunteerism the understanding
of archaeological resources as exemplified by the prehistoric,
historic, and contemporary cultures of the southwestern region.
Such cultures include, but are not limited to, the prehistoric
Hohokam, historic Mexican, Chinese, and European groups.
The PCA hopes to further engage the public in educational
programs through on site tours, special events, and exhibits....more
