Tours of historic Smurthwaite House are available on Thursdays 10 AM - 2 PM ​by appointment only.

Pioneers' Cemetery Association hosts a number of events and activities to support our mission. 
Such events include school or organization tours, assisting Eagle Scout projects, open house events & tours, and more.

Education Is Key to Preserving History

Pioneers' Cemetery Association is here to keep the stories and names alive of our early Phoenix and Arizona territory pioneers. We look forward to speaking with your group by hosting you at our facilities or visiting you for a program. Our programs cover a range of topics, sharing our knowledge of grave marker preservation, stories of our pioneers and their impact on us, and more. We are available for tours of our seven historic cemeteries and the historic Smurthwaite House. We are happy to work with all groups including schools and home school programs. 

Suggested Donations for Guided Tours

• $5 per person 18 years and older tour of Smurthwaite House & cemeteries.
• $3 per person 18 years and older tour of ONLY Smurthwaite House.
• Seniors (60+ years) $3
• Students $3
• 5 years and under FREE

We Love to Provide Tours!

Pioneers' Cemetery Association is available to provide tours of the house and cemetery grounds, host meetings and events, and make your visit one of the friendliest around! You may choose tours of the house, cemetery (closed toe shoes suitable for outdoor walking is important!), or BOTH! 

Groups of 5 or more are asked to contact us to best accommodate a tour tailored to YOUR group needs. You may contact us any time at pioneercem@yahoo.com or submit an Event form (below).

We look forward to sharing stories of historic downtown Phoenix through our facilities and knowledgeable docents!
